Elia Ermou was lovely, especially right in the middle of Athens. The upper level restaurant had a perfect view and the staff was very nice.

Overview

Elia Ermou offers bright light, spacious rooms, and a perfect view of the Acropolis from its rooftop (and several guest rooms). Those wanting a more up-close look of the Acropolis can be at the foot of the Parthenon in just 10 minutes. Elia Ermou is in the center of a vibrant pedestrian street near Syntagma Square, but it also offers its guests some peace, space, and luxury to relax.

Authenticity

Once you go up to the roof or sit on your balcony to gaze at the Acropolis for a minute (or 30), you'll appreciate the value of Elia Ermou. The clear, unimpeded visual of the Acropolis from different points of the hotel is an asset while staying in Greece. Elia Ermou also tries to bring modern Greece into the picture: some rooms and common spaces include original artwork by local Greek artists, all available for purchase.

Elia Ermou is located in a place where ancient and modern Greece meet. Many ancient archaeological sites are within reach—most no more than 15 minutes away by foot—and the modern Greek interest in tourism means this area is geared toward foreigners. Syntagma Square and the National Garden are just a 5-minute walk away, while the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, and Monastiraki Square are all 10 minutes away on foot. 

Rooms & Bathrooms

Elia Ermou has 123 clean, simple, and modern rooms of various types, including the executive room (with a hammam or steam shower), family rooms that can sleep up to four people, and rooms with large balconies overlooking the Acropolis. All the rooms feel quite spacious, including the smallest, the Basic Double Standard. You can lay out your stuff, stretch your legs, or even exercise with the provided small weights and dumbbells in each room.

The rooms are spacious, and the service is top-notch. The rooftop restaurant and patio offer stunning views of the Acropolis. I am not a city person and this hotel is located within the city. That being said if you stay in Athens then you need to stay at this hotel! They have a restaurant on their rooftop with the perfect view of the Acropolis. Extremely beautiful! Plus the food was delicious. The rooms were cleaned and maintained, and they had a jacuzzi bathtub. Being in the city it was quiet at night within our room. Read more
