Hotel Le Clos d'Amboise, Amboise
Historic 17th-century property offering various accommodations, a heated pool, a sauna, and breakfast
We love the cottage-style of the hotel, it looks so antique and warm. The room is spacious and well equipped.
This is one of my new all-time favorite hotels.
Charming chateau with amazing staff, highly rated restaurant and location, location, location. Wouldn't think of staying anywhere else in Amboise.
Overview
Hotel Le Clos d'Amboise blends history, style, and comfort. This 17th-century house was transformed into a hotel in 2003 and upgraded in 2011, all while preserving its authentic character. Nestled in the Royal City of Amboise, the hotel is just minutes away from Francois I's château and Leonardo da Vinci's residence, the Clos Lucé.
Each room at Hotel Le Clos d'Amboise is individually decorated, offering a cozy and comfortable space. The rooms are equipped with a bathroom, hair dryer, and minibar, and the suites provide even more space and luxury, with a separate bedroom and lounge area. The Superior and Family Superior Rooms offer views of the park, while the Royal Suite and Family Suite have expansive living spaces that accommodate up to five and six people, respectively.
Start your day with a breakfast buffet featuring hot drinks, pastries, fresh fruits, and local products. The hotel has a park and terrace, offering views of a vast lawn with century-old trees. Additionally, the outdoor swimming pool, nestled among rose bushes and cedars, is perfect for a refreshing dip. You can also relax and unwind in the hotel's sauna. For those who prefer to stay active, the hotel offers a shelter for bicycles—ideal for exploring the track alongside the Loire River.
