Marta Trzeciakowska

From a very young age, I have grown up in an international environment since my parents moved to Spain from Poland. This meant that every year we traveled across Europe to visit our family and friends, discovering along the way numerous cultures and magical places: from the biggest cities to the smallest villages. In all of them, I have learned that the only way to get the most out of a destination is to dedicate time to the small details that make the trip unforgettable.

Further on I decided to move across the ocean to the US and stayed for some time in Virginia, where I learned that I was not the only one obsessed with the Spanish culture. All of these experiences made me realize that the world is just waiting to be explored and that the best way to start is to focus on close-by places. This made me travel all across Spain, Portugal, and the north of Africa, with some trips to other parts of Europe, to gather all my knowledge and prepare incredible experiences for other travelers.

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"Unique trips and custom-made itineraries based on local experiences and the culture of Spain and Portugal."

How did you get involved in travel?

"Since Spain is such an interesting country, friends and family wanted to visit us and get to know this place that I fell in love with and where I decided to stay forever. Since then I have transferred my skills and knowledge to the world of tourism, to offer all travelers the opportunity to create once in a lifetime memories."

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"I have still in my mind the first time I entered the Mosque of Cordoba. It was a hot mid-spring day and it was still early so almost no people were waiting in line. When I entered I felt the coolness of the interior and when my eyes got used to the change of lighting I was stunned by the grandiose hall, full of colorful arches that reminded me of a labyrinth. I heard the echoes of people's whispers and felt transported back in time as well as grateful for being able to observe such a masterpiece."

Overall, A Wonderful Trip Exploring Spain!

We have a family of 5; the three kids are 15, 14, and 11.

Madrid tapas culinary experience. Grade A+. It was in the Salanca area in the evening starting around 6 pm. It was our family of five and two other guests. We stopped at 4 places and had a great blend of tapas and drinks. Not too much walking, perfect amount of food and very interesting. Definitely recommend.

The Madrid for Kids Tour. Grade B. I think it would have been better had it not been in July when it's so hot. There was a bit more walking, the history and insight was great. Old Town, cathedrals, etc. It was a morning tour (starting around 9 am). It was just so darn hot!

Day Trip to Toledo. Grade A-. It's fun taking the train as we don't train often. The city is definitely a must visit and the tour guide shared great insight and took us to some really cool places. One time, we had access to an underground water tank that others could not visit. Very cool tour. Ended around 12:30 pm and we ate. We should have gotten tickets back to Madrid for the 3 pm train instead of the 5 pm train. In cooler weather, I think we would have explored more and the 5 pm train would have worked.

Spanish Cooking Class in Mallorca. Grade A+. The host was excellent, taught us how to make several dishes, the kids really enjoyed it, my wife and I were able to just watch and have wine. It was a great way to spend about 4 hours and the time flew by!

Luxury Catamaran Tour with tapas and swimming (Mallorca). Grade B-. We did a 4 hour tour which isn't really enough time to get somewhere remote. We anchored near a pretty busy area and not far from a busy beach. The food and service were great. However, it was as remote as I would have liked. I think a longer tour allows you to get further away from the populated areas. You may need a speed boat also.

Coastal Hike, Kayaking, and Lagoon Dipping in Costa Brava. Grade A. This was a delightful daytrip for my family. It's absolutely gorgeous scenery and we had a small group of 10 (so 5 duo kayaks). We hiked, kayaked, cliff jumped, snorkeled, etc. While they say it's 8 hours in Costa Brava, the trip itself is like 5.5 hours and you have 2.5 hours to explore Costa Brava by foot. That information would have been helpful.

The lodging:

Slow Suites Bellas Artes was great for us and very centrally located. It was easy to walk anywhere from there. Only downside was during our stay, they were doing repair on the road outside. That should be complete by now.

Melia Calvia Beach. It's a nice, higher end resort beach. Though our check in process was painful (room key didn't work, when it did, someone was in room already, moved to a different room, ugh), the overall stay was great. Their pools are beautiful, great breakfast buffet, and immediate access to the beach. The parking situation does suck though and we had rented a car.

Val Barcelona Apartments. This was a last minute change. It was a great place. It was spacious, quaint, and cozy. The location allowed you to walk anywhere you needed with plenty of restaraunts and sights nearby. Only drawback was you check in at Hotel Claris, information that was not shared prior to our arrival.

Overall, we had a blast. There were some hiccups along the way but with a 10 day trip, you'll have those. I would highly recommend this itinerary to others!

Marta arranged trains between cities as well as hotels that were comfortable, centrally located and included breakfast, which got our days started right! We took a Paella making class in Valencia, did a tapas tour and had a tour of La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, and saw a Flamenco show in Sevilla. We also had several city tours along the way with knowledgeable and interesting local tour guides. All were well-coordinated and gave us a flavor of each of the 6 cities we visited, while providing lots of free time for us as well.
Marta and her team were always available for questions, both before, during, and even after our trip. It was a fantastic 11-day experience.

* Our walking tour of Lisbon guide (Hector who goes by Eric?) was outstanding- theatrical, entertaining, thoughtful, flexible, educational, fun- a pure delight.
* Our guides for Sintra (Teresa and her husband) were exceptional- we ran late- our own fault- and they were very patient with us and helped us fit in the most treasured part of the adventure (Quinta da Regaleira). They ensured we were comfortable while filling us with a deep history of the place and fun anecdotes.
* Our driver Cesar was professional and very thoughtful and patient with us.
* The choice of both our hotels (Epic Algarve and Hotel Portugal in Lisbon) were excellent to meet our needs. Location of Hotel Portugal was perfect for walking to everything. I loved access to the beach and pools at Epic Algarve as well as their delicious breakfasts.
* A serious disappointment was that KimKim apparently did not pass on the information we provided about shellfish allergy to the restaurants where we had reservations. When we arrived for the dinners, it was too late for them to make accommodations since they require this information in advance. Our group leader contacted KimKim after the first dinner to ensure this did not occur for the second dinner, and she was informed by KimKim that they were contacting the 2nd restaurant. Upon arrival at the 2nd restaurant, again they had not received this information and again could not change the menu. These were each Michelin star restaurants, so I paid nearly $1,000 to have 2 meals where I could not eat much of the food or feel safe. For the 3rd restaurant, I did not feel safe going through this again, so I suffered the loss of the prepaid money and went to a different restaurant on my own. Mishandling a food allergy is a grave mistake at the most basic level, and I hope KimKim never makes this mistake again as it could be life-threatening for some people.
* Another disappointment was that the meet-up information for our catamaran cruise out of the Algarve was not clearly communicated, causing us to race around the harbour for an hour and nearly miss our boat.
Overall, I am very glad we went, and I was highly impressed with the individuals we met while in Portugal. If KimKim can fix the mistakes made for future travelers, then I think they will provide an excellent service.

Location is superb if you don't have a car and want to walk to places. Countless awesome restaurants and shopping within walking distance as well as historical sites. We heard the train much of the time (until midnight and after 5 AM) but we became use to it, and did not find it very bothersome. The breakfast is a good quality, but it does stay busy much of the time (we often had to wait 5+ minutes for a table), and they put out small quantities of food at a time which makes you feel like you should limit yourself. The front desk staff was PERFECT at recommending restaurants for us on both occasions we asked; they also made reservations for us and called us to confirm them while we were out touring- highly appreciated.

The beach is gorgeous, though you need to be able to walk several floors of outdoor steps to get there. It would not be easy to bring a stroller up or down. The outdoor pools are gorgeous but were too cold to enjoy in mid-May 2024. However, the indoor pool was warmer than most, and I happily swam there several times. The breakfast is fresh, full of variety, with custom omelets, and both indoor and outdoor seating. I liked out separate garden view suite more than our friend's ocean view suite in the main building because our unit felt more private and quiet (as opposed to a regular hotel building).

I didn’t book as much through Kimkim as perhaps other travellers do, but all the activities we booked through Kimkim were professional and informative, and definitely enriched our time in Spain. I appreciated what Marta booked as it did save me some time. I loved that our trip was in one place in an app, including accommodations, activities and restaurants that I booked myself. Marta even verified that I had reserved our rental car from the right location. I found the direct message on the app reassuring, and did use it a couple of times. However, for some reason, I lost the “message” ability at one point and even access to the app. I could still get needed info and even communicate with the specialist through email.

This proved to be a great, “ chill” activity for the last day of our trip. It was good to walk along The Ramblas on a Thursday morning, as our previous visit there was on a Saturday afternoon ( not recommended!) The guided tour of the Boquera Market, again in the morning, was enjoyable. Our guide explained about different Hans and traditional desserts, suggested where to buy cheese and olive oils…. For the cooking part, we made a seafood paella. We had already made paella in Valencia, but this was a different kind and so the process wasn’t the same. We took away some additional recipes to try at home. The location of the cooking class was in a lovely Barcelona flat above a busy square.

We loved this visit to Mas Oller winery. A beautiful place just to walk around. Our winery tour was really interesting with an explanation of the process from vine to bottle, and challenges they’re experiencing due to warmer summers. The tasting itself was longer than expected (which was fine!) with generous samples of each wine ( if I recall it was 5 in total). One of our party decided not to finish all their samples because somebody had to drive after! We had fun with some other people on the tour as well.

Our tour guide, Rory, shared a lot of info on Catalan history that we would not have otherwise been aware of. We covered lots of ground and sites within the Gothic Quarter, El Born, Ciutadella Park, and the waterfront, Cycling was difficult, however, due to the large number of tourists always present in Barcelona. E-bikes we’re not necessary since there were not many chances to actually cycle much. The bikes definitely did enable us to cover more sites than being on foot though. One disappointment with this tour was that we ended at a tapas resto that was not El 4 Gats, as specified. The food and wine was very good where the tour ended, but we had to go to El 4 Gats on our own after because this was somewhere we specifically wanted to experience. I will add that our tour guide, Rory, was very helpful during the tapas part of the tour in giving all participants tips on restaurants, etc, for the rest of our trips. He even wrote them down on a little card for each group:)

2. Our route should have been planned better and I should have caught this error. We should have gone to Madrid LAST and then flew direct to Marrakech instead of being in Granada and then having to take 2 flights to get to Marrakech.
Avoid Iberia Airlines and go with Air Arabia. They are friendly, accommodating and have much better service and planes. The Iberia jets don't have seats that move. They are in a permanent position. They never offered us anything after a 2 hr delay, gate and plane change. Upon asking them what they were going to do to compensate the passengers for this delay they stated , "this is Iberia airlines ". My response was : "and your point is? They are an international airline." We got nothing !!

The guide in Madrid for the walking tour was so so. When he finished with us he didn't return us to our starting point. We had to figure out where we were and how to get back to the hotel.

We highly recommend the Barcelona Hotel Catedral for Barcelona. Excellent breakfast , room, location and a free happy hour daily.

The other hotels, guides, transfers were excellent.

We had an excellent experience with Kim Kim travel, from beginning to end. Marta took her time planning the perfect itinerary for us, and really listened to us. Her English is perfect and the response time to our messages and questions, was wonderful. While vacationing, my husband experienced a health issue, and Marta quickly changed and adjusted our plans. Nothing was too much to ask of Marta. I have already told all of my friends about your company, and would use you again. The accommodations were just what we wanted and the guided experiences were excellent. We had a great time with Ivan on our Frigiliana tour. Our guided day in the Andalusian countryside was fabulous and we loved our guide. Highly recommend! The arranged "Jewish themed" tour in Cordoba was just ok, and the guide left us 30 mins early. He was nice, and very knowledgable. The Equitation show in Malaga was great. We enjoyed our tapas tour in Malaga. Our city guide in Madrid was AMAZING! Our tour of the Prado Museum followed by a tapas tour, was great. Our guide was lovely and filled with knowledge about Madrid, food and art history. We chose to self drive, and the highways between cities were very good and easy to navigate. However, the driving in the old cities was anxiety provoking! Once we parked our car, we never took it out again, until leaving the location. All or our accommodations were very well located for walking everywhere. We utilized your restaurant suggestions and found all of your ancilary materials to be very useful.
We LOVED the Bibo Suites Oro delDarro in Granada, and although there was a mixup with our room reservation, things were made right. Apartasuites Alberca in Cordoba was in a great location, and while the suite was just ok, the front desk staff was great. El Museo Living & Experience Club Apartments in Malaga was a good choice and very well located. Senator Cadiz Hotel was so so, but well located and the hotel was welcoming and offered great service and amenities. The Westin Palace in Madrid was well located, but under construction. Our suite was beautiful, and they offered some nice amenities, but there was a problem with the lighting and the TV and there was a strange smell in the suite. The hotel staff was excellent and the breakfast good. I know that I've rambled, but, in short, WE LOVED KIM KIM and felt very well looked after and cared for.

Our Jr Suite was gorgeous, but there were several glitches, including TV, lighting and a strange odor due to ongoing construction in the building. Perfect location and great staff. Lovely buffet breakfast, with eggs to order. Walked everywhere.

The group tour in English was fine, but not the best we've done. The three-hour duration was more than enough. It was informative, but not the highlight of our trip.

This activity was a blast! We took a short ferry ride to La Graciosa were we were able to explore on our own for about an hour. Then we boarded a catamaran and sailed around the island, stopping for lunch and a swim. This was a perfect day that I will not forget!

Perfect day with our awesome, private tour guide. I would definitely recommend this tour. Our guide took us all over Lanzarote, and explained to us all about the volcanoes as well as the vineyards. He even stopped at a couple different beaches at the end of the tour so we could see those sights. He packed us a delicious, local to the Canary Islands, picnic lunch which we enjoyed in a lava tube!
