What you'll do

Your day will likely begin early, around 6:00 am, with a wake-up call from your safari guide. After a quick caffeine boost, you might hop into one of the specially-designed, open-air safari vehicles. These vehicles are tailored for game viewing with elevated seating and open sides to give you an unobstructed view of the surrounding bush.

With your guide's adept bush knowledge, you stand a good chance of encountering the famed Big Five, which includes elephants, leopards, rhinos, buffaloes, and lions. The bush is home to a diverse array of creatures, and you may also spot giraffes, zebras, hyenas, and antelopes, among others. As you encounter these animals, your guide might share valuable insights into their behavior, habitat, and individual roles within their ecosystems.

Your guide might stop and observe flora, birds, and other smaller creatures that contribute to the area's biodiversity. Additionally, you'll likely learn a bit about the history and culture of the area, adding depth to your safari experience. After a few hours of tracking and observing the wildlife, you might take a short coffee break. This is a great opportunity to stretch your legs, discuss the morning's sightings, and ask your guide any questions. After this brief break, perhaps you'll return to your safari lodge, where you can enjoy a hearty breakfast.

There are not enough enthusiastic words or phrases to describe every game drive at Monwana! As my sons put it, we "completely vibed" with Colin our guide and Bennie, our tracker. We loved everyone on the staff led by Robbie. The accomodations were simply stunning and the food was superb! It is worth the long flight to travel back to this lodge, truly one of my top life's experiences! Read more

A fine finish to an extraordinary experience. Got up close with a lion.

Enjoyable Panorama tour, dramatic scenery.

Unembeza Lodge was a good way station stop.
